PREVIOUS PROJECTS ONGOING PROJECTS 

2003

Stephen Hallett visited the Golden Key Project in Beijing in connection with Golden Key's education program for Inner Mongolia. China Vision was working alongside partners the Amity Foundation and CBM.

Stephen also made a week-long visit to Inner Mongolia, visiting visually impaired people and observing Ye Zijie teaching at Huhhot Special Needs School. He also visited the Qingdao School for the Blind and made a follow-up visit to the Tai'an Rehabilitation Centre.


2002

China Vision chairperson, Stephen Hallett, went to Beijing to meet Mr. Xu Bailun of the Golden Key Project and Mr. Ye Zijie from Huhhot, Inner Mongolia. A week was spent following up the work at the Tai'an Rehabilitation Centre in Shandong Province.

International Centre for the Education of the Visually Impaired (ICEVI) Conference, The Netherlands, 27 th July – 7 th August 2002: China Vision's chairperson interpreted at one of the Golden Key Program speeches and presented on behalf of Golden Key representatives.

China Vision was present at the celebration in July of the 100 th edition of Golden Key's magazine for the visually impaired, ‘Ode To Joy'. ‘Ode to Joy' is a monthly braille magazine sent throughout mainland China. The event was held in the ‘Great Hall of the People' in Beijing.


2001

Members of China Vision visited Inner Mongolia for 2 weeks, providing training to 700 primary school teachers on the Golden Key Integration Program. The visit was funded by CBM (Christoffel-Blindenmission) in Germany.

China Vision visited the Tai'an Rehabilitation Centre to meet the three people who would be visiting the UK later in the year, and to meet students being sponsored by China Vision.

Gao Zhuren, director of the Tai'an Rehabilitation Centre, and Yue Hongwei, Tang Jianquan, two students from the centre, spent 3 months at Dorton College of Further Education learning English, IT skills, and western daily living skills.

 

2000

Ye Zijie from Inner Mongolia visited the UK for a 3 month training course at Dorton College of Further Education, Seal, Kent. He undertook English, IT skills, and western daily living skills courses.
